Carburetor Renovation
To enhance performance and fuel economy (and of course of shear interest) I decided to pull my Carter AFB apart, inspect, clean and renovate with the after market renovation kit easily available in after market car shops eg.

Floats checking The floats were in dire need of checkup and adjusting according to the manual.
Floats and new acc. pump assembly
Damage to the under side It looks like a overheating of the sealing surface. Checked for leaks found one small and fixed it with chemical metal.

Carb fixture stand Fabricated a simple carb fixture to make the handling easier

Carb Top gasket This gasket was found below the carb
Intake mfld gaskets Under the tin plate another gasket, heat insulator plate and finally a bottom gasket all dirty and full of deposits
Tin plate (homemade?) This tin plate looks home made how should the real thing look like ? Have later found a replacement click here to see.
Intake venturi notch The intake venturis for the second stage where mixed and didn´t fit. Take care to fit the notch in the venturito this position

Carb back on car Started up and run nice. Too cold to take for a test drive outside but sounded OK: Final test have to wait to spring time comes around
